Jeffrey Preston Bezos is the founder of Amazon, and the richest person in the world. He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1964, and grew up in Houston, Texas. He attended Princeton University, where he studied electrical engineering and computer science. He worked on Wall Street from 1986 to 1994, before moving to Seattle to start Amazon. The company began as an online bookstore, but has since expanded to sell a wide variety of other products and services. In 2013, Bezos bought The Washington Post for $250 million. He also owns the aerospace manufacturer Blue Origin, and the biotechnology company Altos Labs.
